Catcher Johnny Bench of the Cincinnati Reds and outfielder Carl Yastrzemski of the Boston Red Sox are expected to become the 18th and 19th players to make Baseball’s Hall of Fame on their first try when election results are announced tonight.
To be on the ballot, a player must be retired for 5 years and to be elected must be named on 75% of the ballots cast.
