The drunk-driving manslaughter trial of former Olympic diver Bruce Kimball began before a judge who was prepared to move the highly publicized case to Gainesville, Fla., if an impartial jury cannot be seated at Tampa, Fla.

Kimball, 25, is charged with two counts of drunk-driving manslaughter and three counts of drunk driving involving serious bodily injury in connection with an Aug. 1 traffic accident that killed two teen-agers and injured four others at a roadside meeting place known as “The Spot” in suburban Brandon, Fla.
