Pico Rivera : Hearing Will Explore Uses of Federal Funds
The Community Advisory Board will hold a hearing Tuesday to receive public comment on how about $850,000 in federal funds should be spent in Pico Rivera.
For the last 13 years, the federal government has given Pico Rivera Community Development Block Grants. The money has been used for rehabilitation of homes and commercial buildings, code enforcement, alley improvements, parks and the Senior Citizen/Art Center now under construction.
Projects eligible for funding must either provide benefits to low- or moderate-income people or to eliminate slum or help improve blighted conditions. The hearing will begin at 7 p.m. at the Recreation and Community Services Building, 6767 S. Passons Blvd.
