A man found dead in his Chatsworth apartment is believed to have been beaten to death, Los Angeles police said Wednesday.
The body of Melchor R. Miranda, 27, was found about 9:30 p.m. on the floor of the apartment where he had lived alone in the 20900 block of Lassen Street, said Lt. Harvie Eubank.
Eubank said that there was no sign of forced entry to the apartment and that Miranda’s car, a 1986 gray Chevrolet Corsica with no license plates, was missing.
Eubank said there were no suspects in the case and no known motive for the slaying. Miranda had worked for a temporary personnel service in Chatsworth.
