Two 17-year-old boys have been arrested in connection with the Dec. 12 slaying of Carlos Ochoa Ochoa, who police believe may have been killed because he witnessed a murder.

The two juveniles were arrested Thursday, but San Diego police didn’t release the information until Friday.

The teen-agers were arrested at an apartment in the 1000 block of Del Mar Avenue in Chula Vista, San Diego police spokesman Dave Cohen said. Also found in the apartment was property believed stolen in a series of motel robberies.

Ochoa Ochoa, 27, died of multiple gunshot wounds after he and a group of men were attacked by two males as they stood in an apartment house parking lot in the 3700 block of National Avenue.

Witnesses said the two attackers were carrying semiautomatic weapons and were wearing green fatigue clothing and black ski masks. Two other men shot in the same attack survived.

Ochoa Ochoa was a witness to the June 28, 1988, shooting of 19-year-old Miguel Guadalupe Montona, who was found dead in the living room of his girlfriend’s apartment, also in the 3700 block of National Avenue.
