Share

A witness has provided Inglewood police with enough information to develop composite sketches of two suspects in last week’s slaying of Ami Fhima, the cab driver who was robbed and shot an hour after he picked up two men at Los Angeles International Airport on Saturday night.

Witnesses in the area of 111th Street and Van Ness Avenue in Inglewood heard shots and saw two suspects rifling the driver’s pockets next to the cab, officials say. Fhima was shot in the back of the head.

The composite sketches were distributed by Inglewood police Friday.

The suspects are both described as male blacks between 20 and 25 years old. One is said to be about 5 feet, 9 or 10 inches tall with a slender build, medium-complexion and short hair. The other is described as being about 5 feet, 6 or 7 inches tall, stocky, light-complexioned and having a thick jeri-curl hair style.

Rewards offered by several organizations for information leading to the arrest of Fhima’s killers total $10,000, police said.

Fhima, an Israeli immigrant who drove part time for Beverly Hills Cab Co., is survived by his wife and two infant sons.
