Local News in Brief : Placentia : Woman’s Body Found at Condo Fire Site
Orange County firefighters discovered the body of an unidentified woman inside a Placentia condominium that was destroyed by fire Sunday night, officials said.
The fire broke out about 10:30 p.m. inside the two-story, four-unit complex in the 1400 block of Prospect Avenue, according to Dan Southworth, Orange County Fire Department communications supervisor. Thirty-five firefighters brought the fire under control in 16 minutes.
Detectives are investigating the death, Placentia Police Lt. Daryll Thomann said.
“We hope to rule out homicide or determine it was an accidental death,” Thomann said.
The cause of the fire was also under investigation, fire officials said. The blaze caused $110,000 in damage.
