San Ysidro

A San Ysidro man has been arrested in connection with the stabbing death of a former Mexican state police officer who was killed early Monday morning, police said.

Stanley Raymond Nixon, 21, was taken into custody after Luis Montiel Rodriguez, 27, was found stabbed to death in the 3200 block of Monument Road, where his former girlfriend lived with Nixon. Police said Rodriguez had been the cause of several previous disturbances at the residence.

Nixon was booked at County Jail on suspicion of murder. No bail was set, and his arraignment is scheduled for 2 p.m. today.
