‘Senseless Attacks’ on Azusa Mayor

Share

Loony Tunes in Azusa? I should think so with five senseless attacks on the mayor at City Council meetings.

Some council members wanted the mayor audited for a $40 room bill, when in actuality, he spent far less than other council members.

Council members illegally took away his membership on a sanitation commission. The city attorney advised them they were breaking the law and then rescinded the action.

There have been numerous attacks against the mayor’s (Canyon City) Ghost Town and his house. Council members are using the same tactics as prior councils in an effort to drive Mayor Eugene Moses to poverty.

Moses has been faulted for giving a fellow council member a medallion, valued at approximately $10, which the governor of Zacatecas in Mexico gave the mayor. The personal value of this coin is priceless, yet the mayor gave it to the councilman out of the goodness of his heart. Now another council person wishes to mock our mayor and has publicly ridiculed him for this gesture of kindness.

The mayor is selling his (Canyon City) Ghost Town. It is now in escrow. Some council members are trying to change the zoning of the property so that only single-family homes could be built on it, making the sale more difficult.

When are the real issues going to be addressed and the real city business going to be taken care of? Citizens of Azusa are highly irritated by the harassment of our mayor.

I strongly suggest that more residents attend our council meetings. Stay tuned for the Loony Tunes.
