The Santa Ana condition that brought warm days to San Diego this week will begin giving way today to slightly lower temperatures and high-level clouds for the weekend, but no rain is in sight.

A dissipating storm headed here from Hawaii will bring the cooling trend, National Weather Service forecaster Wilbur Shigehara said. A dry cold front from the Gulf of Alaska scheduled to arrive Sunday is also expected to keep temperatures down.

“Clouds coming in today will be a harbinger,” Shigehara said. “It’s been a pleasant week. This weekend the temperatures will start to cool down, with variable cloudiness. The Indian summer weather we’ve had has been enough to dry things out again. It might look threatening at times, but (rain) is doubtful.”
