Local News in Brief : Couple Found Shot to Death in Burbank
A Burbank man shot and killed his estranged wife and then shot himself to death Thursday, Burbank police said.
Police found the bodies of the man and his 31-year-old wife about 6:45 p.m. at a house in the 1600 block of San Fernando Boulevard near Grismer Avenue, Lt. Thomas Hoefel said.
Investigators went to the house after they had been alerted that the woman’s car was in the driveway and that the woman had not picked up her daughter from school, Hoefel said. A friend of the woman’s alerted authorities, he said.
Police found the front door unlocked and the husband and wife dead from rifle shots, Hoefel said.
An investigation is continuing, police said. The names of the victims were not released pending notification of next of kin.
