NBC has set Feb. 2 as the date for the broadcast marking David Letterman’s seventh anniversary as host of the “Late Night” show. It’ll occur in prime time, with Letterman hosting 90 minutes of highlights from shows gone by.

Hosting the 16th annual American Music Awards on Jan. 30 will be Anita Baker, Debbie Gibson, Kenny Rogers and Rod Stewart. The program will take up all three hours of ABC’s prime-time schedule.

The German film “Sugarbaby” is being adapted for a CBS movie, with Ricki Lake starring as a lonely woman who sees a good-looking man one day and resolves to win his love. Craig Sheffer portrays the man in question. Also on hand are John Karlen and Betty Buckley as Lake’s father and stepmother.

Duncan Regehr will portray Pat Garrett in “Gore Vidal’s Billy the Kid,” a TV movie being made for cable’s TNT channel. Val Kilmer was previously announced for the role of Billy. Also in the cast are Wilford Brimley, Rene Auberjonois, Julie Carmen and, in a cameo role, Vidal, author of the screenplay.

Robert Desiderio and Ann Jillian portray a married couple whose son is kidnaped in “Original Sin,” a TV movie that NBC plans to broadcast. Charlton Heston is also on hand as Desiderio’s father, a crime lord whom the couple believe may have information about the boy’s whereabouts.
