The San Francisco Giants acquired four-time all-star catcher Terry Kennedy from the Baltimore Orioles for catcher Bob Melvin.
Kennedy, whose best seasons were with the San Diego Padres, has a .265 career batting average with 103 home runs and 555 RBIs. In l986, he was traded by the Padres to the Orioles with pitcher Mark Williamson for Storm Davis, now with the Oakland Athletics.
The 32-year-old veteran is the son of Bob Kennedy, the Giants’ vice president of baseball operations.
