The San Francisco Ballet will be appearing in Paris for the first time in May. The company is scheduled to give seven performances in the Theatre de Champs-Elysees, as a central part of the annual Festival de Paris, which this year celebrates the bicentennial of the French Revolution. The Stuttgart Ballet of West Germany is the only other major ballet company invited to perform at the 1989 festival. The repertoire will include “Swan Lake” and “Theme and Variations.”
