A three-alarm fire broke out in a passenger lounge of the international arrivals building at New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport and 11 people suffered smoke inhalation, authorities said. The injured included civilians, Port Authority police officers and firefighters, said Capt. Mark Rothstein of the Emergency Medical Services. The cause of the fire was not known. About 95 firefighters battled the fire, which was declared under control. There was heavy smoke from the fire in the building’s west wing.
