Hooray for the county Department of Animal Control for moving against Kelly’s Pet Motel (again) for alleged health and safety violations and inhumane treatment of boarded pets (“Inspectors Find Filth in Raid on Kennel,” Jan. 20). I hope they can finally close it down.
How nice it would be if Animal Control Director Sally Hazzard would show equal vigor in putting an end to pound seizure--in which her department sells unclaimed pets to UC San Diego for unnecessary, painful and cruel medical experiments. MARY ANN MELVIN
