NBC has set Feb. 13 as the date for broadcasting “Hijacking of the Achille Lauro,” a TV movie about the 1985 terrorist hijacking of a luxury liner. Lee Grant and Karl Malden star as Marilyn and Leon Klinghoffer. Also in the cast are Christina Pickles, Vera Miles and E.G. Marshall.

Production has begun on six new episodes of “Trying Times,” the comedy anthology series from KCET Channel 28. The first show, “The Hit List,” was written by A.R. Gurney and stars Geena Davis and Peter Riegert. Other writers for the second season will be Terrence McNally, Marilyn Suzanne Miller, Richard Greenberg, George C. Wolfe and Albert Innaurato.

Sonny Steelgrave, the villain played by Ray Sharkey, is returning to “Wiseguy.” But you thought Sonny was dead? He is. The plot of an upcoming episode has him turning up as what CBS describes as “a demon who still haunts Vinnie (Ken Wahl).”

What happens when a boy’s beloved grandfather is accused of having been a Nazi officer at a concentration camp? That’s the subject of “Silent Witness,” a new drama being produced for future airing on the “CBS Schoolbreak Special.” Tom Aldredge plays the accused man and John Michael Bennett plays the grandson. Eli Wallach portrays the accuser and Viveca Lindfors plays a concentration camp survivor.

Here comes another movie called “The Penthouse.” Neither a remake of the 1933 film with Warner Baxter and Myrna Loy nor the 1967 film with Peter Collinson and Suzy Kendall, this one is a movie for ABC starring Robert Guillaume, Robin Givens and David Hewlett. Givens plays a woman terrorized by a former childhood friend (Hewlett), while Guillaume portrays her father.

Tony Curtis, Jan-Michael Vincent and Kim Crosby have signed on with Joe Lara to star in “Tarzan in Manhattan,” a TV movie for CBS. The network calls it a lighthearted adventure story, based on characters created by Edgar Rice Burroughs.
