Bobby (Cisco) Andrade, a prominent and popular lightweight boxer in the Southland during the mid-1950s, died Wednesday from complications of pneumonia. He was 59.

In what probably was his greatest victory, Andrade defeated lightweight champion Jimmy Carter in a 10-round nontitle fight at Chicago in 1956. He also lost a controversial decision to Art Aragon in Los Angeles.

A Rosary will be said Monday at Blackmon Mortuary in La Puente at 7:30 p.m. The funeral is Tuesday at 9 a.m. at St. John Vianney Church in Hacienda Heights.
