Gary E. Gist has been named president and chief executive officer of Trans World Communications, an Escondido-based subsidiary of Datron Systems in Simi Valley.
Gist, 42, joined Trans World in 1979 and most recently was its executive vice president of operations.
Trans World manufactures HF and VHF radio equipment. Datron Systems makes defense electronics and communications systems.
