Water Problem: ‘The Dry Years’

Is it a miracle or has the impact of the fundamentally flawed state Water Resources Control Board staff report brought mayors of California’s five largest cities to write an open letter (Jan. 6) to Chairman Don Maughan admonishing his staff’s conclusion?

This is the first time that Northern and Southern California cities have agreed on any position that deals with Delta water.

If this small wedge can eventually create a coalition of urban areas in the state to coordinate on all water issues and to eliminate the immature mentality of “they’re stealing our water” from the Northern media, we may all benefit and be better prepared for future drought years with more workable plans in place.
