Critics of Critic of Critics of Warner Ridge

Share

Barbara Zumwalt, an Encino resident about 10 miles from Warner Center and Warner Ridge, takes it upon herself to lecture members of the Woodland Hills Homeowners Organization as to what is good for them and how it is all right all in the name of progress, also known as Warner Ridge Associates, to have their quality of suburban life destroyed by the following:

1. A tremendous increase in traffic.

2. An increase in local smog.

3. Increase in demands in localized service such as those supplied by sanitation and public works.

4. The quiet and peace that is the right of a suburban resident.

How narrow-minded we the people who actually live in the immediate area are in not wanting an additional 3,000 non-residents trying to get in and out of our neighborhood on a daily basis.

How easy it is to pontificate when you are not directly involved in the ramifications. B. Zumwalt probably has some advice for the inhabitants of Vernon and their potential waste incinerator.

As to working where people live, Ventura Boulevard in Encino is full of all sorts of businesses in beautiful high-rise buildings; Barbara J. Zumwalt could even walk to work.
