Oklahoma, which was ranked No. 1 two weeks ago for the first time in the school’s history, Monday regained the top ranking in the Associated Press college basketball poll.

Oklahoma (21-3) was voted No. 1 this week after defeating No. 3 Missouri and Arizona, last week’s No. 1 team.

Oklahoma received 58 first-place votes and 1,273 points from the nationwide panel of sportswriters and broadcasters to top Arizona, which dropped to No. 2.

“We’d like to stay there,” Coach Billy Tubbs said. “But we’re not going to get into the hype of the thing. We’ve experienced it before, so now maybe we can do better.”

Missouri remained third despite its loss to Oklahoma, and Georgetown fell from second to fourth after a 79-74 loss to Pittsburgh. Illinois, which was No. 7 last week, moved to No. 5.

Syracuse is No. 6, Florida State No. 7, North Carolina No. 8, Indiana No. 9 and Louisville No. 10.
