Mojave Pipeline Co. became the latest developer to sign up a major customer for its proposed California natural gas pipeline when Texaco agreed to buy 185 million cubic feet of gas a day to serve its oil fields in Kern County. Mojave, a venture of Enron Corp. and El Paso Natural Gas Co., is one of several groups that want to build a pipeline to boost California’s capacity to bring the fuel into the state. The Mojave project would be among the cheapest because it would span only California, tying into existing gas pipelines at the Arizona-California border.
