David Copperfield will be back with another magic special March 3 on CBS. In this one, his big feat will be to escape from a locked safe that is inside a skyscraper that is about to be demolished. His guest on “The Explosive Encounter” will be Emma Samms.

John Sayles, who wrote and directed the film “Eight Men Out,” has written a pilot movie for NBC called “Shannon’s Deal.” It stars Jamey Sheridan as “a gritty Philadelphia lawyer who tries to make justice happen where often there has been none.” Also on hand are Elizabeth Pena, Eddie Velez, Jenny Lewis and Miguel Ferrer.

PBS is reviving its “LateNight America” talk show. Dennis Wholey will return as host of the program, which will air for two hours each Saturday night, beginning March 25. The program will be based in Washington and will feature five interviews each week.
