Local News in Brief : City Tosses 2 Extra Play Hours to Dogs
The City Council voted Tuesday to give dogs two extra hours each day to romp without leashes through Laurel Canyon Park.
The council voted 14 to 0 to extend the hours that pet owners may run their dogs without leashes at the park on Mulholland Drive above Studio City, the only facility in the city in which dogs are allowed to run free.
At the suggestion of Councilman Michael Woo, the council gave dogs and their owners an extra hour in the morning and afternoon--meaning that the park now goes to the dogs from dawn to 10 a.m. and from 3 p.m. until dark.
