Local News in Brief : Boyfriend Accused of Killing Nurse
- Share via
A boyfriend was arrested Friday on suspicion of murder in the ambush shooting of a nurse who stopped her car in the Hollywood Hills to help a man who appeared to have collapsed in the street, Los Angeles police said.
Giles Aubery, 53, is suspected of pretending to be ailing so he could ambush Lucille Marie Warren, 40, of Inglewood, who died at 11 a.m. Wednesday about four hours after she was repeatedly shot when she stepped out of her car in the 7400 block of Woodrow Wilson Drive near Mulholland Drive, police said.
Aubery, of South-Central Los Angeles, was being held without bail. The motive for the killing appeared to be a domestic dispute between the couple, Lt. Ron LaRue said.
Warren, a divorced mother of two teen-agers, was shot shortly after leaving a home where she was employed as a night nurse.
