2-Acre Park Planned for Sunland-Tujunga
Plans for a two-acre park behind the Sunland-Tujunga Municipal Building and the adjoining fire station and library have been unveiled by Los Angeles City Councilman Joel Wachs.
The site at 7747 Foothill Blvd. will be developed with a children’s play area, a large grassy area, a jogging path and a small garden for senior citizens, said Greg Nelson, an aide to Wachs. A volleyball court behind the fire station will remain. Drainage improvements will be made to eliminate flooding that occurs on the east side of the library.
Funds for the $176,000 project will come from development fees and state bond money.
