College Roundup : Canyons’ Home Winning Streak Takes a Beating, 25-11
College of the Canyons’ 41-game home winning streak came to a decisive end Tuesday in a 25-11 nonconference baseball loss to Cerritos.
Cerritos touched Nick Lymberopoulos for five runs in the first inning and pounded a total of 24 hits off seven Canyons pitchers.
It was the first home loss for Canyons since Len Mohney became head coach three seasons ago.
“I would rather have had it a 3-2 game or a real dogfight,” Mohney said. “It’s your worst nightmare to get beaten up like we did.”
