Hollywood Park Awards Grants to Inglewood Groups

Contributions totaling $22,500 have been given to three Inglewood-based programs by Hollywood Park Racing Charities. The grants are from proceeds of horse racing at Hollywood Park race track.

A grant of $5,000 was given to pay for equipment and operation costs of the DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) program in Inglewood Unified School District.

A grant of $7,000 was given to the after-school recreation program coordinated by the Recreation and community Services Department cultural section, to enable more than 10,000 students to continue to participate in recreational and artistic activities at 12 Inglewood schools and recreations sites.

A contribution of $10,000 went to the Peer Counseling program of the Inglewood SEnior Citizen’s Center. This is the fourth year the charity has donated money to the center.
