ON THE TOWN: Local faves the Untouchables will be at Melrose Avenue’s Golden Apple Comics on Saturday at 2 p.m., signing tapes and comics and gearing up for the band’s two-night stand beginning March 31 at the John Anson Ford Theatre. . . . If you want to hear Paul McCartney’s much-ballyhooed “Choba B C.C.C.P. (Back in the U.S.S.R.)” oldies album (the one he’s only released in the Soviet Union) you have two choices--buy it as a very limited-supply import album (or as a bootleg CD) or tune into Cynthia Fox’s “A Cut Above” show tonight from 7-10 p.m. on KEDG-FM. She’s playing highlights from the album, which include McCartney versions of “Kansas City,” “Lucille,” “Ain’t That a Shame” and “Just Because.” . . . And a happy 36th birthday to producer Jimmy Iovine, who was treated to a surprise party last weekend at Malibu’s Reel Inn. Leading a noisy “Happy Birthday” chorus was old Iovine pal Bruce Springsteen, accompanied by Tom Petty, Bob Seger and John McEnroe, plus industry ‘wigs Irving Azoff, David Geffen, Mo Ostin and Jerry Moss.
