Two men armed with a pistol and a sledgehammer stole $132,000 in jewelry from a Northridge discount store, police said.
The men, who remained at large, entered the Best Products store at 19358 Nordhoff St. about 8:30 p.m. Monday, ordered a clerk to open a display case and emptied the jewelry into a pillowcase before speeding away in stolen 1979 Buick, according to Los Angeles Police Detective Damon Loomis. The car was found abandoned several blocks away minutes later, he said.
The men were picked up by a second car that was driven by a third suspect, who also has not been apprehended, Loomis said.
