Show Will Be Opening Day Starter; McKeon Sets the Pitching Rotation
YUMA, Ariz —
Eric Show has been named the starting pitcher for the April 3 opening night game against San Francisco at San Diego Jack Murphy Stadium, Padre Manager Jack McKeon said Tuesday.
It will Show’s fourth opening assignment for the Padres. His first was in 1984, a 5-1 victory over Pittsburgh that started the Padres on their only pennant-winning season.
Show has a 13-7 career record against the Giants, second only to his 16-3 mark against Atlanta.
McKeon also set his starting rotation for the season: Show, Bruce Hurst, Ed Whitson, Dennis Rasmussen and Walt Terrell.
