ABC Schools Chief to Hold Public Forum
CERRITOS — ABC Unified School District Supt. Larry Lucas will hold a forum for parents and the community at 7 p.m. Monday in the multipurpose room of Haskell Junior High School, 15525 Del Amo Blvd.
Lucas, 49, who was hired in August, will give an overview of the district’s strengths and his projected plans and goals for the 21,300-student system. Lucas formerly was superintendent of the Chino Unified School District.
Lucas said he will accept questions from the audience after his presentation. He said the forum is being held, in part, to answer questions about the district’s recent administrative reorganization.
Under the reorganization, which the board approved unanimously March 7, Charles Ledbetter and Virgil Hall, both assistant superintendents, resigned after agreeing to settlements of $115,000 each. A deputy superintendent’s position also was created. Four other positions were restructured or renamed.
