Man Shot to Death on Encino Street
A man was shot to death Monday morning during a dispute in a street next to his Encino apartment complex, Los Angeles police said. No arrests were made.
The shooting occurred shortly before 12:30 a.m. near the complex in the 8400 block of White Oak Avenue, Lt. William Gaida said.
The victim was identified as Amnon Gafni, 27, an Israeli national who lived in the complex, police said.
Neighbors heard shots and called police, who found the victim lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to Rancho Encino Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Gaida said that a witness provided a vague description of a light-colored car that sped from the scene, but that there were no suspects. He said the motive or cause of the dispute between the victim and his killer was not known.
