Bid for Emery May Proceed: The Justice Department’s antitrust division decided not to block a proposed $220-million cash tender offer by Consolidated Freightways Inc. for financially struggling Emery Air Freight Corp. The decision came only a day after the department asked Emery to determine if there were any parties other than Consolidated, of Menlo Park, Calif., still interested in purchasing the company.
