Richard Crenna and Dennis Farina are on opposite sides of the law in “The Case of the Hillside Stranglers,” a new NBC movie.

Airing Sunday at 9 p.m. on Channels 4, 36 and 39, the two-hour drama casts Crenna as Los Angeles homicide detective Bob Grogan, who investigated the case of serial killers Kenneth Bianchi and Angelo Buono.

Farina, the former star of “Crime Story,” portrays Buono, who along with his cousin Bianchi (Billy Zane), was found guilty of murdering 10 young women and leaving their bodies on hillsides northeast of Los Angeles in the late ‘70s.

Their arrest led to the longest and most expensive criminal trial in the history of Los Angeles.
