Lazers Stay Alive With 5-4 Overtime Win
The Los Angels Lazers kept their fading Major Indoor Soccer League playoff hopes flickering with a 5-4 overtime victory over the Tacoma Stars Sunday at the Forum.
Forward B.J. Esposito scored the winning goal for the Lazers at 5:02 of overtime when he punched a shot past Tacoma goaltender P.J. Johns.
The Lazers improved their record to 20-25 with three games remaining.
After taking a 4-3 lead heading into the fourth quarter, the Lazers seemed to be on their way to a win in regulation, but Preki ruined those hopes with his third goal of the afternoon to force the overtime.
