A former gang member surrendered Tuesday in the shooting of four members of a rival gang and the firebombing of his ex-girlfriend’s apartment, Inglewood police said.

Elton Greenfield, 25, was being held without bail on suspicion of attempting to murder the four men after he found one of them visiting the apartment of the 21-year-old woman Monday afternoon, Sgt. Harold Moret said.

Greenfield was identified as a former member of the Raymond Street Crips. The four victims belong to the Crenshaw Mafia Bloods, police said.

Moret said there was a heated argument when Greenfield found the woman with her current boyfriend, Kenneth Gaines, 20. The latter left to get three friends and, when they returned, Greenfield and a companion were waiting in the alley behind the apartment, Moret said.

Greenfield allegedly shot all four of them with a 9-millimeter automatic pistol and set the woman’s apartment ablaze before driving away.

Gaines and Lamar Morris, 15, were in stable condition Tuesday at Centinela Hospital Medical Center. DeWayne Carter and Aubrey Bryant, both 18, were taken to Martin Luther King Jr.-Drew Medical Center, where Carter’s condition was critical and Bryant’s was serious.
