An Oklahoma football player testified today that he saw teammates Nigel Clay, Bernard Hall and Glen Bell sexually assault a woman in the athletic dormitory Jan. 21.

Jimmy Fennell told a judge he was in the bedroom of Clay’s dorm the night the woman said she was attacked.

Fennell testified in the preliminary hearing involving his three teammates who are charged with first-degree rape in the alleged assault of a 20-year-old Oklahoma City woman.

Fennell said Hall took the woman to the back bedroom and turned out the lights and a short time later he and others in the front room heard a scream. Fennell said he, Clay, Keith Traylor and Bell ran into the bedroom and he saw Hall on the woman.

Fennell said Hall initially tried to have intercourse with the woman but was unsuccessful. He said Clay then attempted to have intercourse with the woman while Hall sat on her chest. He said Clay got up a short time later and Hall got back on and “that’s when he penetrated her.”

“She said, ‘Please, no, don’t do this. I’ve never been with a guy before,’ ” Fennell said.

He said when Hall was finished, Hall got up and left the room.

Fennell said Clay then engaged in sex with the woman, and Bell also did.
