“Big” is finally making the big splash it was expected to make a few weeks ago. After three weeks, the Tom Hanks comedy ascended to No. 1 on the Billboard magazine rental chart. “Stealing Home,” featuring best-actress Oscar winner Jodie Foster, debuted at No. 25, but could wind up in the Top 10--thanks to the exposure from Foster’s Oscar victory. “Hellbound: Hellraiser II,” a favorite among horror fans--especially the young ones--debuted at No. 17. Look for this one to be the most popular horror rental of the next few weeks. “Mystic Pizza,” the comedy/drama about three female friends who work at a pizza joint, entered the chart at No. 19 and has definite Top 10 potential.

* An action movie featuring two big stars, Gene Hackman and Danny Glover, “Bat 21” could be a rental smash. “Lethal Weapon” made Glover a big star in the rental market. Also, Hackman is hot now because of his best-actor nomination for “Mississippi Burning.”
