Junior middleweight Nate Dryer of Phoenix is starting to turn his career into a family feud.

Dryer stopped Floyd Weaver of Canoga Park at 2:40 of the fifth round of their scheduled 10-round main event Monday night at The Country Club in Reseda.

Dryer floored Weaver at the close of the fourth round and opened the fifth with a barrage of punches that caused referee Raul Caiz to stop the bout.

It was the second of the Weaver triplets that Dryer (11-5, six knockouts) has defeated this year. In January, he beat Troy on a fourth-round knockout.

Floyd Weaver dropped to 9-2-1. Both fighters weighed in at 155 pounds.

In preliminary bouts: featherweight Oscar Gonzales (4-6-1) of Bakersfield won a unanimous four-round decision over George Bustamonte (0-2) of Van Nuys; junior welterweights Tony Rivera (1-1-1) of San Gabriel and Ruben Macklis (5-10-4) of Sanger, Calif., fought to a four-round draw; middleweight Tyrone King of San Diego won a unanimous four-round decision over Fred Thomas of Compton in the professional debut for both fighters; and junior middleweight Daryl Colquitt (8-9-3) of Los Angles won a split decision in a five-round bout with Ron Wiswell (4-10-1) of Bakersfield.
