A Glendale man whose wife and daughter were among four pedestrians killed when a suspected drunk driver slammed into them at a Glendale intersection last summer has filed a wrongful death suit against the driver, who is awaiting trial on manslaughter charges.

William L. Cramer last week filed a civil suit against William K. Conway, 27. Conway is accused of killing four people, including Cramer’s wife, Valerie Lynn Cramer, 33, and his daughter, Brianna, 9.

Cramer is seeking unspecified damages for wrongful death, negligent infliction of emotional distress and personal injuries suffered as a result of the July 13 accident.

Patricia Carr, 36, and her daughter, Karen, were also killed in the accident. Cramer’s son, Billy, 12, survived but sustained a broken finger and an injured knee.

Conway, a part-time city maintenance worker, is free on bail pending a trial scheduled to begin May 5 in Pasadena Superior Court. He is charged with four counts of manslaughter and one count of causing an accident with injuries while driving under the influence of alcohol.
