Two Los Angeles men were killed early Friday when their speeding motorcycle went out of control and slammed into the center divider of the Hollywood Freeway, authorities said.

The passenger was ejected over the guardrail into the southbound lanes of the freeway, where “he was run over by several vehicles,” California Highway Patrol Officer Monty Keifer said. “Some of them didn’t stop.”

The accident occurred at 2:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the freeway just south of Lankershim Boulevard in Studio City.

The driver, about 25, and his 19-year-old passenger, were not identified pending notification of relatives, Keifer said.

Witnesses told investigators that the driver had been drinking alcohol before the accident.

All southbound lanes of the freeway were closed and traffic rerouted for nearly three hours, Keifer said.
