LOCAL : Driver Killed on 405 in Van Nuys

One motorist was killed and another was injured in a three-car accident early this morning on the San Diego Freeway in Van Nuys, the California Highway Patrol said.
The accident occurred about 3 a.m. near the Sherman Way exit and involved three northbound cars, the CHP said.
Officials said that a woman about 25 years old was killed and that a man in one of the other cars was taken to Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills for treatment of slight injuries. Their identities were not released. No one else was hurt.
An investigation is continuing.
