Long Beach : 2 Harbors Offer Free Tours to Mark World Trade Week

The ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles will be offering free harbor cruises to celebrate World Trade Week.

Tours of the Port of Los Angeles will be given Saturday and Sunday on boats departing from the Maritime Museum at the foot of 6th Street in San Pedro. The hourlong tours will begin at 10 a.m., according to Port of Los Angeles officials.

And on May 21, the Port of Long Beach will offer free, hourlong narrative tours of its own facilities. Sightseeing boats will depart from the bow of the Queen Mary between 10 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., port officials said.

The Long Beach tours will feature port operations in action, including close-up views of cargo ships loading and unloading with giant container cranes. The Queen Mary is providing free parking for the event, a port official said.
