Winning Colors, who hasn’t won a race since the 1988 Kentucky Derby, finished last in a field of eight, 22 1/4 lengths behind Banker’s Lady, in the $174,300 Shuvee Handicap Saturday at Belmont Park.

While Banker’s Lady now has won five straight stakes, Winning Colors has lost six in a row since beating Forty Niner by a neck in last year’s Derby. Two of those losses, however, were against the colts in last year’s Preakness and Belmont Stakes.

Ridden by Angel Cordero, Banker’s Lady went off the favorite and finished 2 1/4 lengths ahead of Rose’s Cantina, with Grecian Flight third, another 1 1/4 lengths back, in the 1 1/16-mile race for fillies and mares.

She returned $4.40, $3 and $2.40; Rose’s Cantina paid $11 and $5, and Grecian Flight paid $4.40. to show.

In her 1989 debut, Winning Colors finished fourth in the seven-furlong A Gleam Handicap April 29 at Hollywood Park.
