Twenty-seven people were arrested in Palmdale after deputies raided two houses that allegedly were used for dealing drugs, authorities said Sunday.

The arrested people were being held on suspicion of a variety of drug-related offenses, from distribution and sales to possession and being under the influence, said Deputy Ronald Thomason of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Five of the suspects were being held on $20,000 bail each, and bail was set between $2,500 and $5,000 for the others, authorities said.

Narcotics detectives raided a house Friday night in the 38400 block of 10th Place East, where they arrested 11 of the people, Thomason said. Undercover deputies posing as drug dealers then went to another house in the same block and arrested two women and 14 men, many of whom were smoking and dealing rock cocaine or had other drugs in their possession, Thomason said.
