A handful of protesters blowing whistles disrupted FBI Director William S. Sessions’ speech to graduating law school students at the University of Texas in Austin. Demonstrators waved signs criticizing the FBI for investigating U.S. political groups and discriminating against minorities. Latino FBI agents, who contended they were denied promotions and given the worst assignments, recently won a discrimination suit against the agency. The suit was tried in El Paso. “I couldn’t agree more that it’s very important that there be perceived in all of America a strong feeling that the FBI will not be classified as a racist or discriminating organization . . . “ Sessions told the protesters.
