Flamemaster Corp. Profit Climbs 6% in 2nd Quarter

Flamemaster Corp. in Sun Valley said its fiscal second-quarter profit climbed 6% from a year earlier despite a 23% drop in sales.

In the quarter that ended March 31, the maker of fire-retardant coatings and sealants earned $97,217, up from $91,507 a year earlier. Sales fell to $1.08 million from $1.4 million.

For the first half of its fiscal year, Flamemaster’s earnings rose 6% to $123,210 from $116,370, and six-month sales dropped to $2.05 million from $2.45 million.
