Giamatti Postpones Rose Hearing Until June 26
Pete Rose’s request that baseball postpone its hearing on his alleged gambling for 30 days was granted Monday by Commissioner Bart Giamatti.

Spokesman Rich Levin said the postponement was granted “in the spirit of fairness.”
In Cincinnati, Rose declined to speak with reporters about the commissioner’s action and closed the door of his clubhouse office before Monday night’s game against St. Louis.
